On Wednesday, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy earned a 61-50 victory over Holy Name. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Green Wave are ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Padua Franciscan waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Lions 50-36.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Padua Franciscan, they are also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Padua Franciscan in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 45-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
