Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Erwin Warriors, falling 3-0. The Mountaineers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Mitchell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-23.

Addison Gregory paced Mitchell's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gregory got some help from Piper Cook and her eight assists.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Erwin, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against North Buncombe on the 25th. As for Erwin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Madison on the 26th.
