Baseball Recap: Chester Comes Up Short

Chester lost against Redding Christian last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Volcanoes might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Volcanoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chase Chism made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Chester: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

Chester's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Redding Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Chester will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. The Volcanoes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Redding Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Burney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
