Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield lost against Lowellville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers lost 20-8 to the Rockets. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Springfield saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Wymer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that Wymer snagged this season. Gracie Maldonado was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lowellville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Springfield has already played their next game, an 18-7 win against Aquinas on the 12th. As for Lowellville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-11 victory against Memorial on the 14th.
