Preview: Valley Forge Patriots vs. Holy Name Green Wave
Valley Forge has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Holy Name Green Wave at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Valley Forge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Valley Forge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to North Royalton.
Despite their defeat, Valley Forge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cloe Rzeczycki, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Kallie Yeager, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Holy Name can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 60-38 margin over Hawken. 60 seems to be a good number for Holy Name as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Valley Forge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Holy Name, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
Valley Forge came up short against Holy Name in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Holy Name's Claire Coljohn, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
