If Barrow was feeling good fresh off their 73-53 takedown of Bethel last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Barrow Whalers and the Nome-Beltz Nanooks didn't end well, with the Barrow Whalers falling 73-59. When it comes to explaining why Barrow lost on Friday, don't look at Alex Fruean. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. The matchup was Fruean's tenth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaziah Tivao, who had 11 points.

Barrow dropped their record down to 15-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Nome-Beltz, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.
