League recap: Pryor stuns Coweta in upset

5A District 4 recap October 1, 2013

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pryor, who took down 62nd ranked Coweta, 42-41. Brennon Barth threw for 125 yards and ran for 161 yards during the win.

Tahlequah was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 5A District 4. The Tigers defeated Grove 47-20 earlier in the week.

Brinley Brown threw for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 12-25 with 2 interceptions.

Barth was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers defeated the Tigers. Barth's key target this week was Anothy Martinez, who caught 5 passes for 116 yards.

Dustin Basks was a key player and the best on defense this week as Claremore beat Collinsville. The 5-foot-7 junior.

Martinez was the best receiver in the league this week as Pryor beat Coweta. Martinez racked up 5 receptions for 116 yards.

Claremore's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Zebras feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 689 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Basks has 20 catches for 334 yards.

At the moment, the Zebras are in first, while Tahlequah is in fourth.

The Tigers moved up to 80 from 121 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Pryor was able to move up by beating the Tigers 42-41.
