Baseball Recap: Necedah Cardinals vs. Waterloo Pirates        
        
		
            
 Necedah and Waterloo squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but Necedah had to settle for second. They lost  14-0 to the Waterloo Pirates. The  defeat leaves Necedah without a win on the season.
 For Waterloo's part,  Keegan Lauersdorf made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Lauersdorf has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Lauersdorf was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Jon Sampo was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Trevor Firari, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Necedah's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Waterloo, their win bumped their record up to 15-8-1.
 Necedah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waterloo, they have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome New Glarus at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. New Glarus is coming into the  contest with six straight  victories on the road,  so Waterloo will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum.
