Basketball Recap: New Life Academy Takes a Loss

New Life Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 32-16 bruising from Ahoskie Christian. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Ahoskie Christian this season, with their most recent defeat being a 67-34 loss back in November of 2024.

Ahoskie Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Lassiter, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Lassiter has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Jones, who put up seven points along with seven boards and four steals.

New Life Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Ahoskie Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

New Life Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ahoskie Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-29 loss against Suffolk Christian Academy on the 13th.
