Preview: Stagg Delta Kings vs. Chavez Titans
Stagg is 8-1 against Chavez since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Stagg Delta Kings will head out on the road to face off against the Chavez Titans at 7:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Stagg fell victim to Linden's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 35-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, Stagg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while Linden is ranked 334th).
Even if they lost, Stagg's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Linden's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Linden's QB won't forget La'Bron White anytime soon given White sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, Chavez pushed their score all the way to 33 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of McNair by a score of 35-33. That's two games in a row now that Chavez has lost by exactly two points.
Stagg now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Chavez, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Stagg took their win against Chavez when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 50-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stagg since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
