Baseball Preview: Nashoba Valley Tech Vikings vs. Minuteman Regional Minuteman
Nashoba Valley Tech and Minuteman Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Vikings will challenge the Minuteman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nashoba Valley Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
While Nashoba Valley Tech didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over East Boston on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Richie Collins made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Collins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Zane Beausoleil was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Nashoba Valley Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Nashoba Valley Tech pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Minuteman Regional, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
