Recap: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. Carol City Chiefs

The Westland Hialeah Wildcats lost to the Carol City Chiefs back in January of 2018, but the Westland Hialeah Wildcats didn't allow the Carol City Chiefs the same satisfaction on Thursday. Westland Hialeah walked away with a 55-42 win over Carol City. Given Westland Hialeah's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Carol City is ranked 724th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carol City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jahquori Lombrage, who scored 12 points. Lombrage scored a full 28.6% of Carol City's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oluwasemilore Adewoye, who scored nine points.

Westland Hialeah pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Carol City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Westland Hialeah will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. Booker T. Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Carol City, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Miami Springs at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Miami Springs comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
