Softball Recap: Nestucca Comes Up Short

Nestucca saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 21-11 to the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maddie Nielsen stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Armstrong, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Nestucca's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. Umpqua Valley Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Nestucca and Umpqua Valley Christian will both be playing Elgin the next time they take the field. Nestucca will host Elgin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Umpqua Valley Christian will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
