Softball Recap: Mitchell's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mitchell waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Lecanto Panthers 11-1. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Savannah Toukatly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, MacKenzie Tucker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Burris, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Mitchell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Mitchell's record now sits at 17-5. As for Lecanto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will challenge River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lecanto, they will take on Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
