Basketball Recap: Na'sir Hines Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Hunt won the last time they faced South Johnston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hunt Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 win over the South Johnston Trojans.

Hunt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Na'Sir Hines out in front who posted 11 points along with six assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Hampton, who went 6 of 7 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Hines wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hunt was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Johnston only posted five assists.

When it comes to explaining why South Johnston lost, don't look at Cole Norris. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 9 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. That's the most points Norris has posted since back in February of 2024.

Hunt pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for South Johnston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Hunt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-47 victory against West Johnston on the 16th. As for South Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-35 win against Southern Wayne on the 15th.
