Volleyball Recap: Wylie Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Wylie waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the North Garland Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wylie was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-15.

Julia Hudgins paced Wylie's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hudgins got some help from Olivia Royal and her 17 assists. Finally, Aubrey Degrate kept Wylie's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Wylie's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for North Garland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wylie is set to take on their familiar foe Garland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Garland will square off against rival South Garland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
