Basketball Game Preview: Newmarket Mules vs. Concord Christian

Newmarket is 8-2 against Concord Christian since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Newmarket Mules will square off against Concord Christian at 6:30 p.m. Newmarket has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

While Newmarket didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Wilton-Lyndeborough 68-23. That looming 68-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mules yet this season.

Meanwhile, Concord Christian's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 75-68 to Raymond. The loss was Concord Christian's first of the season.

Newmarket pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Concord Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Newmarket ended up a good deal behind Concord Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 79-63. Can Newmarket avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
