Softball Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Groesbeck Goats
Fairfield has gone 8-2 against Groesbeck recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Fairfield Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Groesbeck Goats at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Fairfield's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Groesbeck has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Fairfield was able to grind out a solid win over Elkhart, taking the game 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Elks: they've now won five in a row.

Haylee Allen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Fairfield let Madelyn Morrison and Evelyn Fultz run wild. Morrison scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5, while Fultz scored a run while going 1-for-3. Fultz also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Ridge, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
