Baseball Recap: Chittenango Triumphs

Chittenango came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Mexico Tigers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since May 19, 2025.

Evan Tianello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Chittenango let Mason Corlis and Eli Lefort run wild. Corlis went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Lefort went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Corlis is becoming a predictor of Chittenango's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Kielbasa, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Chittenango's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Mexico, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Chittenango will head out to face off against Skaneateles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mexico, they will face off against Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
