Basketball Game Preview: Norwalk Lancers vs. Beckman Patriots

The Norwalk Lancers will be taking part in a tournament against the Beckman Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Norwalk is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Tuesday, Norwalk beat South El Monte 60-49.

Jesus Sanchez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high. David Zazueta was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Norwalk smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Beckman didn't have too much trouble with Cerritos on Friday as they won 70-51.

Beckman now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Norwalk, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Norwalk took a serious blow against Beckman in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 62-25. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lancers were down 45-11.
