Baseball Recap: Gulf Breeze Drops Highest Score of Season Against Yukon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gulf Breeze). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yukon Millers on Monday, sneaking past 17-16. With that victory, the Dolphins brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Gulf Breeze let Jake Hooten and Tommy Regan run wild. Hooten got on base in all seven of his plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and four RBI, while Regan went 4-for-7 with one home run, eight RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave Regan a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Jackson, who scored five runs while going 4-for-7.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Gulf Breeze lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Gulf Breeze's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Yukon, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Gulf Breeze will be playing at home against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf Breeze is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Yukon, they will take on Tate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tate will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Yukon surely won't give up without a fight.
