Basketball Recap: New Diana Takes a Loss

New Diana's tournament run continued when they took on Sam Rayburn on Thursday. The New Diana Eagles lost to the Sam Rayburn Rebels on the road by a 66-48 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 786th, while the Rebels are ranked 350th).

New Diana's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Sam Rayburn, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Winnsboro the next time they take the court. Sam Rayburn will head out to face Winnsboro at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, while New Diana will play them later in the day, at 10:30 a.m.
