Football Recap: Greenbrier Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Greenbrier Christian Academy and Chincoteague squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Greenbrier Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell 32-26 to the Ponies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ponies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-25 back in October.

When it comes to explaining why Greenbrier Christian Academy lost, don't look at Conner Isenberg. Despite the final result, he rushed for 198 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 48 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Isenberg showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was Tucker Basnight, who rushed for 89 yards and one score.

Chincoteague's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camaury Davis, who rushed for 88 yards and one TD.

Greenbrier Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Chincoteague, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Greenbrier Christian Academy nor Chincoteague have any future games scheduled.
