Softball Game Preview: Avalon Eagles vs. Cross Roads Bobcats

The Avalon Eagles will challenge the Cross Roads Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Avalon barely beat Coolidge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 28-10 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Cross Roads waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Cross Roads pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Avalon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
