Softball Recap: Lipscomb Academy Has No Trouble Against Father Ryan

Lipscomb Academy won the last time they faced Father Ryan and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Irish with a sharp 15-3 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lipscomb Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Father Ryan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lipscomb Academy will take on rival Christ Presbyterian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Father Ryan is set to square off against their familiar foe Pope John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
