Basketball Game Preview: Lawton-Bronson Eagles vs. West Monona Spartans

Lawton-Bronson is 2-8 against West Monona since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lawton-Bronson Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the West Monona Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Lawton-Bronson came up short against Kingsley-Pierson and fell 64-57.

Meanwhile, West Monona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Westwood and fell 67-35. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Rebels are ranked 65th).

Lawton-Bronson now has a losing record at 6-7. As for West Monona, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Lawton-Bronson ended up a good deal behind West Monona in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 78-60. Can Lawton-Bronson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
