Baseball Recap: Fannett Metal Takes a Loss

If Fannett Metal was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Everett last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fannett Metal fell 9-5 to the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs on Friday. Fannett Metal was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Claysburg-Kimmel apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Fannett Metal saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wade Appleby, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Fannett Metal's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fannett Metal will face off against Southern Fulton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fannett Metal has won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while Southern Fulton won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will take on North Star at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
