Volleyball Recap: Columbia Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Midview, Columbia was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Brookside Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won six in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Brookside scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 25-19.

Naziya Reid paced Columbia's offense, picking up 13 kills. Reid got some help from Mariah Gonzalez and her 30 assists. Gonzalez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ruby Sikorski, racking up three apiece.

The win got Columbia back to even at 2-2. As for Brookside, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Columbia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Firelands on the 4th. As for Brookside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Oberlin on the 4th.
