Football Recap: Brady Martin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bensalem

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Quakertown). They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over the Bensalem Fighting Owls on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Fighting Owls are ranked 239th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quakertown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Martin led the charge by throwing for 210 yards and one TD, while also rushing for 47 yards. Those 47 rushing yards gave Martin a new career-high. Jackson Connelly was in the mix too, providing Quakertown with two scores.

The victory got Quakertown back to even at 2-2. As for Bensalem, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quakertown will head out to face off against Souderton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bensalem, they will venture away from home to square off against Cheltenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
