Basketball Game Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Snowflake Lobos

The Alchesay Falcons will head out to challenge the Snowflake Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Alchesay comes in on three and Snowflake on ten.

Alchesay's tournament run continued when they took on Sabino on Saturday. Alchesay came out on top against Sabino by a score of 48-38.

Lenea Lavender was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miley Burnette, who earned four points.

Alchesay was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sabino only racked up seven assists.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Snowflake over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Snowflake strolled past Pusch Ridge Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 57-38.

Snowflake pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Alchesay, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Alchesay didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Snowflake when the teams last played back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alchesay since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
