Basketball Game Preview: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. Croatan Cougars

The J.H. Rose Rampants will square off against the Croatan Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in J.H. Rose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 22 matchups.

J.H. Rose is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over South Johnston. Given the Rampants' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Trojans are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Croatan earned a 76-68 win over Hunt on Tuesday.

Croatan found their leader in sophomore Kannon McBride, who almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. McBride's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Trey Jones, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

J.H. Rose's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points over those games. As for Croatan, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.
