Fairfax waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 79-32 victory over the Alhambra Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-12 back in December of 2024.

Fairfax got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mel Romero out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Romero has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Mayega Enow was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Fairfax smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Alhambra's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jessenya Ponciano Medina, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Ponciano Medina a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Elisabet Rodriguez, who put up eight points.

Fairfax pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Alhambra, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Fairfax has already played their next game, an 82-3 win against Metro Tech on the 29th. As for Alhambra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-36 victory against Central on the 29th.
