Baseball Recap: Muir Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

It's playoff time, and Muir had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Rio Hondo Prep Kares 3-1.

Miguel Castillo tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Muir saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fletcher Paddock, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Luca Cano was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Muir is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.

As of now, neither Muir nor the Kares have any future games scheduled.
