Baseball Game Preview: Workman Lobos vs. Edgewood Lions

For the second straight game, Workman will face off against Edgewood. The Lobos will host the Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Workman has struggled recently with 27 defeats in a row, while Edgewood will arrive with four straight wins.

Workman came up short against Edgewood on Tuesday, falling 13-2.

For Edgewood's part, Johnathan Enriquez and Evan Davis were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Enriquez pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Davis struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Enriquez scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Davis scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Ramirez, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Edgewood's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Tsang, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Edgewood now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Workman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
