It was a good run, but Arlington unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Van Buren Black Knights by a score of 37-35. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Devils came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Black Knights are ranked 462nd).

Arlington's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Van Buren, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arlington will head out to take on Fort Jennings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van Buren, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Liberty-Benton at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
