Softball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

After flying high against Elysian Fields on Saturday, Marshall came back down to earth. The Mavericks fell just short of the Lufkin Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Marshall saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Pringle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 11-7-2. As for Lufkin, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Coming up, Marshall will square off against Whitehouse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Lufkin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
