Recap: Payson Lions vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves
The Payson Lions posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past Timpanogos 71-51. This was payback for Payson, who suffered a 83-55 loss the last time these two teams met.
Payson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamika Wesley, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Cooper Swasey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Timpanogos lost, one person who can't be blamed is Steven LaPray. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with two steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LaPray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Graf, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Payson's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Timpanogos, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Payson will take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Timpanogos, they will be playing at home against Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
