Softball Game Preview: Forest City Foresters vs. Blue Ridge Raiders

The Forest City Foresters are taking a road trip to challenge the Blue Ridge Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Blue Ridge took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Forest City, who comes in off a win.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Forest City and Mountain View, and Forest City kept the tradition alive. The Foresters came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-5 on Monday. The Foresters haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Carbondale Area on Monday and fell 7-6. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Carpenetti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Abby Piechocki, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Forest City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Forest City beat Blue Ridge 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Do the Foresters have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
