Basketball Recap: Central Crossing Takes a Loss

Central Crossing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-45 loss at the hands of the New Albany Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-39 back in December of 2024.

Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cordelia Watkins, who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points. Thanks to that strong game, Watkins now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. Savannah Hamilton was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Central Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for New Albany, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.

Central Crossing has already played their next matchup, a 75-38 loss against Westerville Central on the 8th. New Albany has also already played their next game (against Pickerington North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
