Soccer Game Preview: Wheaton Academy vs. Timothy Christian

The Wheaton Academy Warriors will challenge the Timothy Christian Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheaton Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wheaton Academy fell victim to Berwyn/Cicero Morton and their airtight defense on Saturday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Timothy Christian had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They never let the Argonauts get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Give Timothy Christian's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Mackenzie Laslo was the driving force of Timothy Christian's attack as she scored both of Timothy Christian's goals, bringing her season total up to 11 goals.

Timothy Christian's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight games. As for Wheaton Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4-3.

Wheaton Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Timothy Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
