Preview: Bosco Tech Tigers vs. Salesian Mustangs
Bosco Tech has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Salesian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bosco Tech will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, Bosco Tech took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 41-12 win over Verbum Dei Jesuit.
Meanwhile, Salesian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-20 victory over St. Monica on the road. Given Salesian's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 228th, while St. Monica is ranked 653rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Salesian can attribute much of their success to Cameron Crutcher, who rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and Ayden Ramirez, who gained 218 total yards and four touchdowns. Ramirez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Michael Edwards and his 84 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Salesian's win.
Their wins bumped Bosco Tech to 4-4 and Salesian to 7-1.
Bosco Tech was taken down by Salesian 65-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Bosco Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
