Football Recap: South Point Comes Up Short

After flying high against Chesapeake last Friday, South Point came back down to earth. The Pointers took a blow against the Dawson-Bryant Hornets on Friday, falling 44-15. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

South Point's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Dawson-Bryant, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Point will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gallia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Dawson-Bryant, they will face off against Fairland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
