Basketball Recap: Los Alamos Takes a Loss

Los Alamos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taos Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-43 back in December of 2024.

Kohynn Young was Los Alamos' leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Jasmine Mondragon had a dynamite game for Taos, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. Mondragon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Julianna Flores was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Los Alamos' defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Taos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Los Alamos has already played their next game, a 51-29 loss against Pojoaque Valley on the 6th. As for Taos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-25 defeat against Espanola Valley on the 6th.
