Greater Johnstown was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockwood, sneaking past 5-3.
Eli Felosky made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Felosky was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock Kobal, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Richland made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bishop Carroll on Friday. Richland came out on top against Bishop Carroll by a score of 12-7.
Like Greater Johnstown, Richland also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryan Ozog. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Ozog has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Talon Urbanek was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caden Robertson, who scored two runs.
Greater Johnstown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Richland, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
