Football Game Preview: Greene County Tigers vs. Isabella Mustangs

The Greene County Tigers will challenge the Isabella Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Greene County will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Aliceville, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers took down the Yellowjackets 30-12 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Greene County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelvies Snoddy, who threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score. Chance Richardson was Snoddy's top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Greene County's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ronald Wilder Jr., Markeith Walton, and Javeon Carpenter, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Isabella). They blew past Highland Home 35-6 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Isabella now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Greene County, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.
