Volleyball Recap: Lanier Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lanier lost against Milton back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Longhorns took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Lanier was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Milton work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Pilar Zucal paced Lanier's offense, picking up 17 kills. Zucal got some help from Addy Gosselin and her 32 assists. Finally, Chloe Johnson kept Lanier's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Shelby Matteson, who had 28 digs and three assists. Those 28 digs gave her a new career-high.

Lanier's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Milton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-14 record this season.
