Flag Football Preview: Shadow Hills Knights vs. Portola Bulldogs
The Shadow Hills Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Portola Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shadow Hills comes in on six and Portola on 19.
Last Tuesday, Shadow Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley View, taking the game 27-18. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Eagles are ranked 446th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vanessa Monaco and Ava Hyatt. Hyatt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Portola got themselves on the board against University last Monday, but University never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 33-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Shadow Hills' record now sits at 23-4. As for Portola, their record is now 23-2.
Shadow Hills and Portola were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in September, but Shadow Hills came up empty-handed after a 14-13 loss. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
