Softball Recap: Sunset's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Sunset had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Westview Wildcats by a score of 4-1. For the Apollos, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Adrianna Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Pe?a, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Sunset pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Westview, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunset will venture away from home to square off against Beaverton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to challenge Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
