Landrum came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Blue Ridge, but Gavin Forrester wouldn't allow it. The Fighting Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cardinals 63-28 for which the team can thank Forrester, who rushed for 123 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Foster, who threw for 162 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Foster's passing game has become a key predictor of Landrum's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Braylon Revis also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Blue Ridge and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Landrum, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Blue Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Fighting Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Landrum, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blacksburg at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
