Volleyball Recap: Ponte Vedra Comes Up Short

Ponte Vedra entered their game against Tocoi Creek on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Sharks fell just short of the Toros by a score of 3-2. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Toros apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ponte Vedra wouldn't go down easily and took Tocoi Creek into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 16-14.

This is the second loss in a row for Ponte Vedra and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Tocoi Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Ponte Vedra will look to defend their home court on Monday against Global Outreach Charter Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Tocoi Creek, they will host Spruce Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
